Raising Resilient Children
We are dedicated to helping parents bring greater ease and joy to raising resilient children who develop the skills needed to navigate life’s social and emotional challenges. We do this by providing guidance on how to incorporate mindfulness into daily routines and by sharing age-appropriate parent-child practices that reinforce an ability to be present and respond in benefiical ways in time of stress.
Pause NOW is a phrase and acronym that we use to help us and our children remember to call upon our mindful practice as we go about our daily routines. The simple act of remebering to Pause and be present afords us the ability to Notice Our Wisdom in the moment and respond in a way that is benficial for ourselves and others.
Mindful parenting is about being present and fully engaged with your child in each moment. It involves paying attention to your child with kindness, patience, and without judgment. By practicing mindful parenting, you create a nurturing environment that fosters your child's emotional and mental well-being, while also enhancing your own awareness and responsiveness. This approach helps build stronger, more empathetic relationships and promotes a balanced and harmonious family life.
Mindfulness positively affects the brain in several ways. It strengthens the part of the brain responsible for focus and self-control, helping you make better decisions. It calms the area that handles stress and emotions, making you less reactive and anxious. Mindfulness also boosts the part of the brain that helps with memory and learning. Additionally, it improves communication between different brain areas and supports the brain's ability to adapt and change. These benefits lead to better mental health, emotional balance, and overall brain function.
